Worry not, "Psych"-O's! Gus and Shawn's bromance will continue going strong.
"Psych," which is USA Network's longest-running series on air, has been renewed for a seventh season. James Roday (Gus) and Dule Hill (Shawn) will return with 16 more episodes next season, which was revealed in quite the interesting -- and very social -- fashion.
USA started rolling out a pineapple puzzle at 8 a.m. on Tues., Jun. 10, via "Psych's" Twitter and Facebook pages. The messages teased that there would be a surprise at the end of puzzle, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "The final piece to the puzzle unlocked a video featuring Roday and Hill announcing the pickup, during which Roday casually says, 'Oh, and also, Psych is officially coming back for a seventh season, which is very cool, but I'm kinda working on this belt situation right now,'" USA Network's co-presidents said in a statement.
"Pysch" stars Roday and Hill talked to The Huffington Post before Season 6 premiered in the fall of 2011 and they revealed information about their massive crop of guest stars, including former New Kid On the Block, Joey McIntyre, whose episode aired in November. "We even convinced him to do The Pendulum with Dule, which fans will get to see in the form of a psych-out," Roday said.
Though "Psych" appears to be safe for now, USA Network has recently had some scheduling shake-ups: Both the Sarah Shahi-headlined series "Fairly Legal" and the final season of "In Plain Sight" are moving to Friday nights, beginning March 16.
"Psych" will resume with its sixth season after its holiday hiatus on Wed., Feb. 29 at 10 p.m. EST on USA Network.
