In between The Monkees two seasons on television, the made-for-TV band toured the US, beginning at the Hollywood Bowl on June 9, 1967. The result was pure pandemonium as thousands of teenyboppers screamed their lungs out for their favorite TV rock stars. The opening act for the date was Ike & Tina Turner. Jimi Hendrix joined the tour in July (albeit temporarily) though left after a few shows, when it was discovered it was a poor match (to say the least.) The Monkees are currently touring and will be throughout this summer.
