Sons of Anarchycreator Kurt Sutter has signed a deal to develop a half-hour comedy for FX, the network announced on Thursday.

The project, Diva. Clown. Killer.,is dark comedy that tells the story about a has-been '80s rock star, her son who works as a party clown, and an assassin. Sutter will executive- produce along with his wife and Sons of Anarchyactress Katey Sagal and Belle Zwerdling.

"I look at SOA as being an intense drama, where the murder and mayhem are made palatable by absurd, dark humor," Sutter said in a statement. "This half-hour will be an absurd, dark comedy, where the story is fueled by murder and mayhem."
