Noah Tops Box Office, Frozen Sets New World Record

Noah may have taken the top spot at the weekend box office, but Frozenjust set a world record.

Frozen's latest receipts bring the film's total global gross to $1.072billion, making it the top-grossing animated film of all time. Toy Story 3 had previously held the record with $1.063 billion. Frozen also holds the 10th spot on the list of top global blockbusters of all time.

Noah, meanwhile, secured the No. 1 spot in its opening weekend, bringing in $44 million, according to Box Office Mojo. The film, which takes on the biblical tale of Noah and the great flood, stars Russell CroweJennifer ConnellyEmma Watson and Anthony Hopkins.

Divergent took the No. 2 spot with $26.5 million, bringing thepost-apocalyptic flick's two-week total to $95 million. Muppets Most Wantedfollowed with $11.4 million.

Coming in fourth was Mr. Peabody& Sherman with a gross of $9.5 million. God's Not Dead was right behind with $9.1 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 was The Grand Budapest Hotel (No. 6, $8.8 million); Sabotage (No. 7, $5.3 million); Need for Speed (No. 8, $4.3 million); 300: Rise of an Empire (No. 9, $4.3 million) and Non-Stop (No. 10, $4.1 million).
