Michael J. Fox
NBC has canceled The Michael J. Fox Show, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
The move comes a week after NBC shut down production on its other low-performing first-year comedy, Sean Saves the World. However, unlike Sean, The Michael J. Fox Showalready completed production on its full 22-episode season. It is unknown when the remaining seven episodes will air. (Fifteen installments have aired thus far.)
The Michael J. Fox Show premiered to 7.5 million viewers and a 2.2 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic. The series steadily dropped throughout its run, drawing just 2.18 million viewers and a 0.7 rating for the Jan. 23 episode.
The series marked Fox's first role since leaving Spin City in 2000, and was loosely based on Fox's own life. The five-time Emmy winner played a beloved local newsman, Mike Henry, who returns to work after giving up his career years earlier after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
