Meet The Amazing Race 25 Cast

Date August 28, 2014

Amazing Race Cast Season 25

A one-armed surfer and a Survivor couple are among the cast members of The Amazing Race 25, which will feature yet another new twist.

Fall TV: Hot scoop on returning shows

Surfing champ Bethany Hamilton, whose left arm was bitten off by a shark in 2003, will globe-trot with her husband, Adam Dirks. Survivor: South Pacificalums Keith Tollefson and Whitney Duncan, who got married after the Race, will aim to do better than previous Survivor-turned-Race pairs Rob and Amber, who finished second and eighth on Seasons 7 and 11, respectively; and Ethan and Jenna, who finished 10th on Season 19.

Other teams include food scientists, dating pro wrestlers and realtor sisters.

Season 25 will also introduce The Save, which will allow the team that finishes first in Leg 1 the chance to save themselves if they finish last on the subsequent legs.

To commemorate the Emmy-winning show's silver anniversary, Season 25 returned to New York City — where Season 1 began and ended — for the start, and the starting line in Times Square was open for fans to come watch for the first time.

Must-see new fall shows

"Starting here in Season 1 made so much sense because it is without a doubt the biggest melting pot in America," host Phil Keoghan tells TVGuide.com. "So, the fact that it's 25 seasons, to come back to the city and reset and have fans there, it's great."

This season's course will span 20 cities in eight countries, covering more than 26,000 miles. For the first time in the show's history, the Race will visit St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; Valletta, Malta; and the Shetland Islands, Scotland.

The Amazing Race 25 premieres Friday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c on CBS. Click here to meet the teams  and see what they had to tell TVGuide.com about doing the show before they sprinted around the world.
