'Mad Men' star Elisabeth Moss is in final negotiations for the lead role in a new BBC miniseries titled 'Top of the Lake.' The six-hour drama, written and directed by Jane Campion ('The Piano') and produced by Emile Sherman and Iain Canning ('The King's Speech') centers around a detective (Moss) investigating the disappearance of a 12 year-old pregnant girl who is also the daughter of a local drug lord. The series -- which will air on BBC Two in the UK -- has yet to land a US network, but the Sundance Channel is reportedly a possibility. [Deadline]

'One Life To Live' creator Agnes Nixon will guest-star on the show. In a mindbending meta twist, Nixon will play Agnes Dixon, creator of the show within a show, 'Fraternity Row,' before 'OLTL' goes off the air. Nixon shoots her scenes the week of November 17, to air starting January 9. [TV Guide]

Michael Rispoli has landed the male lead in ABC's comedy pilot 'The Manzanis.' The star of 'The Black Donnellys' will appear opposite Kirstie Alley in the multi-camera sitcom, which follows the Manzanis, an opinionated Italian-American family who move to a quiet New Jersey suburb and butt heads with their WASPy neighbors.
