Jennifer Love Hewitt is bringing back 'The Client List.'
According to Deadline, Hewitt is set to reprise her Lifetime TV movie role and executive produce a series based on the 2010 movie. Lifetime is targeting a 10-episode season to start in 2012. As part of the contract, Lifetime has a development deal for both shows and movies with Hewitt's Fedora Films. Hewitt also nabbed herself a directing gig on a future Lifetime movie.
"Beloved by viewers, Jennifer Love Hewitt is an amazing talent on and off the screen and we are very excited about continuing our relationship with her on 'The Client List,'" Nancy Dubuc, president and general manager of Lifetime Networks, said. "This project falls in line with our strategy to expand Lifetime's slate with unapologetic programming that will surprise audiences."
'The Ghost Whisperer' star's turn as a Texan wife and mom who winds up running a spa known for giving more than massages garnered a Golden Globe nomination. The 2010 TV movie ends with Hewitt's character Sam serving some jail time after being busted by the police. Her character becomes a waitress and is seemingly forgiven for her transgressions.
The series will follow Hewitt's character as she struggles to provide for her family while working with a group of "rowdy" and "sexy" women.
"Jordan Budde has written a show that truly reflects the spirit of the movie and I am looking forward to an amazing partnership with Lifetime as both a producer and actress," Hewitt said.
