"I have a list of childhood goals," Segel told Moviefone. "There are only three things on it: Be on David Letterman, work with the Muppets, and host 'SNL.' I had done Letterman before and I, obviously, did the Muppet movie last year. But, I did all three last week. In one week! That's not hyperbole, that's an actual list I had."
And Segel brought his A-game to Saturday night's show. AOL TV's 'SNL' expert, Mike Ryan, gave the episode his highest score of the season. Segel brought the Muppets -- and Paul Rudd along with him, because what's a 'SNL' "Kissing" sketch with Paul Rudd?
As it turns out, Segel and Rudd got a little too into the "Kissing" sketch.
"We were told to tone it down," Segel revealed. "I 'Fatal Attraction-ed' him in dress rehearsal. I threw him up against the wall to the point that I almost destroyed the set. I yanked his hair back so violently, and I basically, like, I can't say the word, I mean, I hate-kissed him. [laughs] So hard!"
Just like that, 'SNL' magic was created.
