James Franco James Franco, the jack of all trades Oscar-nominated actor, is in fact returning to 'General Hospital,' despite having said the contrary.

According to E! Online, Franco, who plays the murderous performance artist named Franco, will return just in time to wreak havoc before Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Samantha McCall's (Kelly Monaco) marriage.

In July, TV Guide Magazine first reported Franco would be returning to 'General Hospital.' A few days later, the actor told E! that news was false.

"I'm sad to say that that was a little bit of misinformation," he said. "I don't know why they announced that I would be back in September. I am currently making 'The Wizard of Oz' in Detroit. I am the lead. I am working every day, so I don't know when I would be able to fly back to do any episodes of General Hospital in the near future."

Well, he's back in Port Charles and looking very bloody. E! Online has an exclusive first look at Franco back on set with series star Burton.

What's in store? Well, knowing the unpredictable nature of the character, we bet it'll be good.

Look for Franco to appear in the Sept. 20 episode of 'GH,' the same week 'All My Children' leaves ABC.
