The same goes for the title character on 'The Nine Lives of Chloe King.' So you're not the most powerful member of a feline-like ancient race with nine lives -- you get the same butterflies when a cute guy flirts with you at your after-school job.
ABC Family has always done a good job at creating shows around likable teenage girls who you can identify with even if your life is nothing like theirs. In honor of tonight's 'PLL' return (8PM ET) and 'Nine Lives' premiere (9PM), I've rounded up five of ABC Family's most relatable characters -- ones I'd totally hang out with if I could (and they weren't fictional).
Hanna Marin, 'Pretty Little Liars'
Of all the Liars, Hanna's my favorite. Maybe it's because I'm inexplicably always drawn to the slightly bitchy popular girl (seriously, can someone tell me why that is?), but there's a depth to Hanna that most people would be surprised to see. Behind that mean girl facade is a sweet, caring teenager who only wants the best for her friends and family. If that means hurting other people's feelings to get it, so be it.
Ashleigh Howard, 'Greek'
I know, I know, the show's over. But can you blame me for wanting to hang out with the loyal, kind, hilarious Ashleigh? Not that I'd ever want to encroach on her BFF-ship with Casey. I just think it'd be hard not to get along with the slightly ditzy (in the delightful, spontaneous way) but totally wonderful sorority girl.
Daphne Vasquez, 'Switched at Birth'
Unlike her sarcastic pseudo-sister, Daphne is the kind of girl who gets along with everyone. She's got no tolerance for the insecure d-bags of the world and knows how to put them in their place, but she's got nothing but patience for everyone else. She helps you understand her non-hearing world without making you feel like an insensitive jerk, plus she's pretty funny to boot.
Georgia, 'State of Georgia'
Raven-Symone's Georgia is that loud friend with the best stories who people gravitate toward at parties. You know the type -- every friend group has one. While you'd definitely have to keep the aspiring actress' big personality in check, one thing's for sure: hanging with Georgia would never be boring. 'State of Georgia' premieres June 29 at 8:30PM ET.
Chloe King, 'The Nine Lives of Chloe King'
As you'll see in tonight's premiere, 16-year-old Chloe is witty, independent and tons of fun to hang out with. Plus, she has way awesome superpowers and can always save the day. What's not to love?
