Good news for two of our favorite British series: both 'The Hour' and 'Luther' are returning for more episodes.
'The Hour,' which premiered Aug. 17 on BBC America, just got a second-season order from BBC Two. That means at some point in the undetermined future, Americans will get six more episodes of the drama, which takes place behind-the-scenes of a news show in the 1950s. The series will return to BBC Two in 2012.
BBC Two head Janice Hadlow said in a press release, "I'm delighted that Abi Morgan and the team will be bringing back 'The Hour' for a second series. It has been a hugely impactful, much talked about programme, and the potential for plot development is very exciting."
Elsewhere in the world of "amazing British shows we love," 'Luther' has just gotten a third-season order. Idris Elba will be back as what AOL TV's own Mo Ryan calls a "troubled yet brilliant urban detective" for a third series on BBC One in the U.K., but there's even better news for Americans: Season 2 starts on BBC America in September, so now we have even more to look forward to.
