Allan McKeown, Tracey Ullman's Husband and Producer, Dies at 67

Allan McKeown, Tracey Ullman

Allan McKeown, the husband of Tracey Ullman who also served as a producer and co-creator of her comedy shows, died at his Los Angeles home on Tuesday after a battle with prostate cancer, Variety reports. He was 67.

Born in London, McKeown worked as a hairdresser in England during the 1960s and served clients including The BeatlesElizabeth TaylorRichard Burton and Michael Caine, according to Variety. After embarking on a film and television career, he became one of the first independent producers in Great Britain.

McKeown co-created his wife's HBO show Tracey Takes On... and Showtime series State of the Union. The couple won an Emmy for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series for the former in 1997. He also produced the British stage show Jerry Springer the Musical in 2004 and the Broadway show Lennon the Musical (along with Yoko Ono) in 2005.

He and Ullman married in 1983 and have two children.
