Dr. David Keel has just announced his engagement to his secretary, Peggy. However, when Peggy is murdered Keel, vowing vengeance, meets a mysterious stranger named John Steed. Steed and Keel join forces in hunting for the gang responsible for Peggy's death.

Steed and Keel have joined forces. Steed tells Keel that he has managed to become a member of the gang of protection racketeers responsible for Peggy's death.

Square Root of Evil
Steed, impersonating Riordan, infiltrates Riordan's gang who are planning to flood the country with forged banknotes.

Season 1, Episode 4 – Aired: 1/28/1961
Nightmare
Dr Keel is investigating the disappearance of an eminent scientist, but when an attempt is made to kidnap him Dr Keel is shot in the chest. An operation is necessary, but during the operation the oxygen is tampered with. Keel is dying and it is up to Steed to save his life.

Season 1, Episode 5 – Aired: 2/4/1961
Crescent Moon
Steed is investigating the kidnapping of a young girl, but Steed suspects that the motive is a political one as the girl's father had officially been killed in an accident only a week earlier, and there is no motive for the kidnapping.

Season 1, Episode 6 – Aired: 2/11/1961
Girl on the Trapeze
A girl jumps into the Thames, but the body which is recovered is that of another girl who has been murdered. Dr. Keel discovers that she had been a member of the Radeck State Circus. Upon visiting the circus, Dr. Keel finds a girl whose face is masked with bandages. She is the daughter of Professor Danilov who had fled to the West with his daughter, and the plan is that she will be used to make Danilov return.

Season 1, Episode 7 – Aired: 2/18/1961
Diamond Cut Diamond
Steed is attempting to break a gang of international diamond smugglers, and masquerading as John Ryan is living in a bungalow near Heathrow Airport which once belonged to Harcourt, a suicide who had once been a member of the smuggling organisation. One morning Steed receives a telephone call advising him to read the morning papers. They carry a report that a woman was run down and killed. Told by the caller to check his car, Steed finds that it is damaged and covered in dried blood. Steed has been set up.

Season 1, Episode 8 – Aired: 2/25/1961
The Radioactive Man
Marko is an immigrant who, in the course of his work, has picked up a radioactive isotope capsule, ignorant of the fact that it will prove fatal to both him and anybody who comes into contact with him. Dr. Keel is asked to help search for this man before it is too late.

Season 1, Episode 9 – Aired: 3/4/1961
Ashes of Roses
Steed is convinced that a watchman who died in a warehouse fire was murdered. In the course of his enquiries his investigations lead him to a hairdressing salon. Ultimately Dr. Keel's receptionist Carol is nearly burned alive when one of the hairdriers which she is sitting under catches fire.

Season 1, Episode 10 – Aired: 3/18/1961
Hunt the Man Down
Frank Preston has hidden more than one hundred thousand pounds, the proceeds of a robbery for which he has served a long prison term. When he is released he goes looking for his hidden cache which he has stowed away in the sewers, but he is not the only one looking for this valuable hoard. Steed is also searching, and Carol is kidnapped by thugs in an endeavour to extort information from Dr. Keel and Steed.

Season 1, Episode 11 – Aired: 4/1/1961
Please Don't Feed the Animals
Steed and Dr Keel follow Felgate, a minor civil servant who is involved with secret cyphers, to a private zoo. He sees Felgate throwing a packet of blackmail money into the reptile pit. Although Steed keeps an eye on the packet, it vanishes the next day. The culprit is a small monkey who is being used by a gang of blackmailers.

Season 1, Episode 12 – Aired: 4/15/1961
Dance with Death
Elaine Bateman, owner of a ballroom dancing school, is strangled with Dr. Keel's scarf. Steed promises to help clear Keel's name.

Season 1, Episode 13 – Aired: 4/29/1961
One for the Mortuary
Steed conceals an important new medical formula, in microdot form, onto a document belonging to one of Keel's partners. Keel takes it with him when attends a conference in Geneva, but is ultimately accused by police of murder.

Season 1, Episode 14 – Aired: 5/13/1961
The Springers
Steed is after the organisers of an escape route who will help any prisoner to escape for the right price. He asks Dr. Keel to impersonate a convict. Keel does so, and both he and Steed end up at a girl's finishing school in the clutches of a gang. Steed's quick thinking enables him and Dr. Keel to escape.

Season 1, Episode 15 – Aired: 5/27/1961
The Frighteners
Jeremy de Willoughby is beaten up by a couple of heavies. Dr Keel discovers that the organiser of the gang of heavies is a man known as The Deacon who has been paid by a tycoon to prevent de Willoughby from marrying his daughter. It emerges that de Willoughby is a 'professional marrier' so Dr. Keel and Steed arrange a trap for both de Willoughby and The Deacon.

Season 1, Episode 16 – Aired: 6/10/1961
The Yellow Needle
After an attempt is made against his life, Sir Wilberforce Lungi enlists Steed's aid. Steed flies to Tenebra to make enquiries. Meanwhile, back in London, a member of a sinister African society substitutes a dose of yellow fever for the insulin with which Lungi has to inject himself, and also makes an attempt on Dr. Keel's life.

Death on the Slipway
An agent has been killed at the secret dockyard where submarines are built. Steed investigates, and finds that a foreign spy has been arranging 'accidents' for him.

Season 1, Episode 18 – Aired: 7/8/1961
Double Danger
Keel, called to deal with a man seriously injured by an accident, quickly discovers that the man is suffering from gunshot wounds, and that he may be implicated in a recent diamond robbery.

Season 1, Episode 19 – Aired: 7/22/1961
Toy Trap
Keel is asked by the improbably named Bunty to help her find her missing friend. What is the connection between the department store where the women work and a call-girl racket?

Season 1, Episode 20 – Aired: 8/5/1961
The Tunnel of Fear
Top-secret information is finding its way into the wrong hands, and the source seems to be a south coast fairground. Steed succeeds in getting hypnotised and winds up in the ghost-train tunnel. With frightening results, of course.

The Far Distant Dead
Dr Keel, treating the victims of a cyclone struck Mexican village, uncovers a number of food-poisonings; emergency cooking oil is, in fact, hydraulic fluid.

Season 1, Episode 22 – Aired: 9/2/1961
Kill the King
A visit to London to sign an oil treaty from a monarch whose life is under threat brings Steed and Keel into the world of dissidents and assassinations.

Season 1, Episode 23 – Aired: 12/9/1961
Dead of Winter
The discovery of the body of Schneider, a wanted Nazi war criminal, deep-frozen in a consignment of meat at London docks brings Steed and Keel into the shadowy world of Phoenix, a new and terrifying Fascist party in Britain.

The Deadly Air
An experimental vaccine is stolen, and the subsequent test proves deadly. Steed and Keel, suspecting that the human 'guinea pig' did not die directly from the vaccine, volunteer to be the next subjects.

A man is publicly murdered on live television. One-Ten is certain that it can only be the work of Mr. Teddy Bear, a professional killer, and requests Cathy Gale to commission him to kill John Steed.

Propellant 23
Steed and Cathy find the dead body of the courier they were due to meet at Marseilles airport . The sample of new liquid rocket fuel has been taken from his body. Facing enemy agents, Steed and Cathy must get the flask back.

Season 2, Episode 3 – Aired: 10/13/1962
The Decapod
John Steed is assigned to protect Borb, the president of the Balkan Republic, who is visiting London to sign a military deal. His private secretary is killed by a masked wrestler known as the Decapod.

Season 2, Episode 4 – Aired: 10/20/1962
Bullseye
Shareholders in Anderson's Small Arms Ltd are being killed one by one whilst a tycoon plans a take-over. Rifles manufactured by Andersons are being smuggled into Africa. Cathy Gale joins the board in order to investigate.

Season 2, Episode 5 – Aired: 10/27/1962
Mission to Montreal
The famous film star Carla Berotti's stand-in is murdered, and microfilm of the Dew Line - the early-warning system in North America - has been stolen. The film star proceeds to Montreal on a luxury liner. Dr King is assigned as her personal doctor, and Steed goes under cover as a steward while they attempt to find the microfilm.

Season 2, Episode 6 – Aired: 11/3/1962
The Removal Men
Steed gives himself a criminal record in order to infiltrate a group of assassins currently based in the South of France. He robs the leader of some jewellery then waits for the gang in the local club at which Venus Smith is singing.

Season 2, Episode 7 – Aired: 11/10/1962
The Mauritius Penny
When the rare Mauritius Penny turns up on a list, the owner of a stamp shop is murdered whilst talking on the telephone about it. Cathy Gale gets a job in the stamp shop, and she and Steed later witness another murder.

Season 2, Episode 8 – Aired: 11/17/1962
Death of a Great Dane
A man involved in a car crash is found to be carrying a great number of diamonds in his stomach. Steed is sure that he is a member of a gang which smuggles very large amounts of money out of the country, and tracks the activities of the gang to the offices of multi-millionaire Litoff. The burial of one of Litoff's Great Danes turns out to be a cover up..

Season 2, Episode 9 – Aired: 11/24/1962
The Sell-Out
Steed's is assigned to guard M. Roland, A UN negotiator in London for important talks, but cannot prevent an assassination attempt in which an innocent man is killed. There is a possibility that one of Steed's associates is involved, and at one stage Steed himself is suspected.

Illegal diamonds are swamping the market, and a diamond merchant's wife is murdered. Cathy finds that rock salt crystals are being used to smuggle diamonds into the country.

An Officer on board HMS Zebra, a naval base, is giving secrets to the enemy, rendering the Navy's missile-tracking equipment useless. Steed and Mrs. Gale investigate.

The Big Thinker
The most technologically advanced computer in the world, known as Plato, is being sabotaged. The body of a dead professor is found frozen to death inside it..

Season 2, Episode 13 – Aired: 12/22/1962
Death Dispatch
A British courier is murdered in Jamaica, but protects the contents of his brief case. Since the case only contains routine information, the mystery deepens.

Season 2, Episode 14 – Aired: 12/29/1962
Dead on Course
A plane crashes on the Irish coast in suspicious circumstances, and the bodies are taken to a nearby Convent . Dr. King is called in to check up on the causes of death.

Season 2, Episode 15 – Aired: 1/5/1963
Intercrime
Steed persuades Cathy to impersonate Hilda Stern, a recently arrested assassin about to be used by the trans-national crime syndicate Intercrime. When the real Hilda Stern arrives in London she is arrested and sent to Holloway Prison. All goes well until Stern breaks out of prison and confronts Cathy. Steed is fortunately on hand to free Cathy.

Immortal Clay
Marling Ceramics are on the verge of creating an unbreakable china. When a body is discovered in a tank of clay, Steed investigates.

Season 2, Episode 17 – Aired: 1/19/1963
Box of Tricks
NATO secrets are being leaked into the wrong hands. Steed believes that this has something to do with the death of Denise, the magician's assistant at the club where Venus Smith is working.

Season 2, Episode 18 – Aired: 1/26/1963
Warlock
The scientist who invented a new fuel formula is found in a coma, and Steed is entrusted with its safe-keeping.

Season 2, Episode 19 – Aired: 2/2/1963
The Golden Eggs
When a burglar steals two gold-plated eggs from Dr Ashe, an experimental scientist, the man, not knowing that they contain a deadly virus, rapidly falls ill.

Season 2, Episode 20 – Aired: 2/9/1963
School for Traitors
Steed, investiges the apparent suicide of a University tutor who had been working on important research.

Season 2, Episode 21 – Aired: 2/16/1963
The White Dwarf
Professor Richter, an astronomer, believes that the sun's stellar companion, The White Dwarf is heading straight towards our solar system, and will destroy the Earth. When he is subsequently murdered, questions arise regarding a senseless motive.

Season 2, Episode 22 – Aired: 2/23/1963
The Man in the Mirror
When a cypher clerk, Trevelyan, commits suicide, Steed investigates. Venus, taking photographs at a fun fair, has her camera and films stolen. However, one film is missing, and when developed a face can be seen in the Hall of Mirrors - that of Trevelyan, the dead cypher clerk. But there is one problem -Venus's photograph was taken after the man's death.

Season 2, Episode 23 – Aired: 3/2/1963
Conspiracy of Silence
The Marfia decide to eliminate Steed rather than to let him interfere with their drug-smuggling operation between Britain and North America, and accordingly arrange for him to be assassinated. Steed tracks his intended assassin to a circus, where the clowns prove to be quite sinister rather than funny.

Season 2, Episode 24 – Aired: 3/9/1963
A Chorus of Frogs
Steed, on holiday in Greece is investigating the death of a deep-sea diver. Experiments are being made on board the ship 'The Archipelago' with a bathyscope. Venus has been invited on board to provide entertainment.

Season 2, Episode 25 – Aired: 3/16/1963
Six Hands Across a Table
When Cathy is invited for a quiet weekend at the home of an old school friend, Rosalind Waldner, events soon take a turn for the worse, involving take-over bids at the Reniston Ship Building Group and attempted murders.

Season 2, Episode 26 – Aired: 3/23/1963
Killer Whale
Cathy is managing the boxer Joey Frazer at Pancho Driver's Gym. Steed believes that this may be a centre for shipments of illegal ambergris, especially after a dead sailor's body is found in one of the dressing rooms at the gym.

Season 3, Episode 1 – Aired: 9/28/1963
Brief for Murder
Steed is charged with the murder of Cathy Gale after she alleges that Steed was implicated in a case of treason. Steed is defended by two solicitors, Japer and Miles Lakin, who had earlier advised Steed on the best method of murdering Cathy Gale.

Season 3, Episode 2 – Aired: 10/5/1963
The Undertakers
Steed investigates events at the Adelphi Park Rest Home where all the inhabitants are millionaires who have all signed over their fortunes to their next of kin in order to evade death duties. Cathy, works undercover at the home as Assistant Matron, and Steed poses as a funeral director.

Season 3, Episode 3 – Aired: 10/12/1963
Man with Two Shadows
Steed meets a man named Borowski who has been brainwashed. Borowski speaks of 'doubles' of scientists and politicians being smuggled into the country. Eventually, Steed finds that the next 'double' will be himself.

Season 3, Episode 4 – Aired: 10/19/1963
The Nutshell
The Director of Operations (Disco) directs Steed and Cathy to The Nutshell, an underground shelter to be used by security forces in the event of World War III. Subsequent events suggest that Steed is a traitor, and eventually he gives himself up. It is left to Cathy to save the day.

Season 3, Episode 5 – Aired: 10/26/1963
Death of a Batman
Steed attends the reading of the will of Wrightson, his one time batman and is astonished to find out that the man had accumulated a vast fortune. Steed and Cathy decide to investigate.

Season 3, Episode 6 – Aired: 11/2/1963
November Five
The winning candidate for the by-election of South-East Anglia, Michael Dyter, is murdered just as the results of the by-election are being read out. Cathy Gale decides to stand in the by-election caused by his death, and Steed acts as her election agent. They discover that the government had failed to investigate the theft of a nuclear warhead, and that Dyter had threatened to expose a cover- up by some leading Government officials.

Season 3, Episode 7 – Aired: 11/9/1963
The Gilded Cage
Cathy is arrested for the murder of criminal mastermind J.P. Spagges. Steed assures her that he will do everything possible to clear her name. Subsequent events reveal that Spagges is not dead, and that an elaborate robbery has been planned. Steed goes undercover.

Season 3, Episode 8 – Aired: 11/16/1963
Second Sight
Blind millionaire Halvarssen brings two eye corneas from Switzerland, which purportedly come from a live donor, Hilda Brauer. Subsequent investigations by Steed and Cathy reveal that all is not as it seems.

Season 3, Episode 9 – Aired: 11/23/1963
The Medicine Men
After the murder of a girl in a Turkish bath, Steed visits a pharmaceutical company, Willis Sopwith, which is losing money due to the sale of imitation products on their foreign markets. Steed and Cathy discover a plot which will cause illness and death in overseas markets, destroying the goodwill of Willis Sopwith and of Great Britain.

Season 3, Episode 10 – Aired: 11/30/1963
The Grandeur That Was Rome
Steed and Cathy discover that the grain distributed by United Food and Dressings Ltd., has been deliberately infected with ergot. While making enquiries, Cathy is caught breaking into the UFD laboratory, and Steed must rescue her before she becomes a guinea pig for a new strain of bubonic plague.

Season 3, Episode 11 – Aired: 12/7/1963
The Golden Fleece
Steed and Cathy investigate a Chinese restaurant which is being used as a cover for international gold and ammunition smuggling.

Season 3, Episode 12 – Aired: 12/14/1963
Don't Look Behind You
Cathy is invited to spend a weekend at the home of Sir Cavalier Resagne, an authority on medieval costume. However, Sir Cavalier has a more sinister reason for inviting Cathy to his home. Will Steed arrive in time to rescue her?

Season 3, Episode 13 – Aired: 12/21/1963
Death A La Carte
Emir Abdulla Akaba is visting London for his annual medical check-up, but Steed believes that somebody at the hotel where he is staying will attempt to poison him. Steed suspicions turn out to be correct.

Season 3, Episode 14 – Aired: 12/28/1963
Dressed to Kill
All of the UK's early warning stations are alerted for World War III, but turn out to be a false alarm. During the course of their investigations, Steed and Cathy attend a fancy dress ball on a train, Steed disguised as a gambler and Cathy as monk and later as a highwaywoman.

Season 3, Episode 15 – Aired: 1/4/1964
The White Elephant
Snowy, a white elephant, is stolen from the zoo. Cathy joins the staff at the zoo, where she finds that an illegal ivory trade has been occurring.

Season 3, Episode 16 – Aired: 1/11/1964
The Little Wonders
The Criminal organisation known as Bibliotek endeavour to enlist Steed into their ranks. They plan to kill their head, the Bishop of Winnipeg, and take over the organisation which is built along the lines of Murder Incorporated masquerading as a church.

Season 3, Episode 17 – Aired: 1/18/1964
The Wringer
Agents have been dying, and Steed is accused of being a traitor. The head of the brainwashing unit to which Steed is sent is a man nicknamed 'The Wringer', who plans to create havoc within the Service.

Season 3, Episode 18 – Aired: 1/25/1964
Mandrake
Steed attends the funeral of an old friend at a lonely cemetery in Cornwall. Arsenical poison is suspected.

Season 3, Episode 19 – Aired: 2/1/1964
The Secrets Broker
One of Steed's associates is murdered. Subsequent investigations by Steed and Cathy reveal the stolen plans of new military weapons in micro-dot form, and Steed narrowly escapes being dropped into the Thames wearing a 'cement overcoat'.

Season 3, Episode 20 – Aired: 2/8/1964
Trojan Horse
Steed and Cathy investigate the world of corrupt horse racing.

Season 3, Episode 21 – Aired: 2/15/1964
Build a Better Mousetrap
Cathy joins a motorcycle gang, and calls on two elderly ladies, purporting to be witches, to ask permission for the gang to use one of their fields for motorcycle meetings. Later the plans of a long- range jamming device turn out to be vital, but things are not quite what they seem.

Season 3, Episode 22 – Aired: 2/22/1964
The Outside-In Man
Steed is protecting Sharp, a man whom, ironically, the Service had been trying to kill five years earlier. Other agents die whilst trying to protect this man who has outlived his usefulness to Abarain.

Season 3, Episode 23 – Aired: 2/29/1964
The Charmers
Opposition agent Vinkel has died, and his employers believe that Steed was responsible. Believing it to be the work of a third party, Steed suggests to the opposition that he work with them in order to find out who was responsible.

Season 3, Episode 24 – Aired: 3/7/1964
Concerto
Brilliant young Soviet pianist Stefan Velika is giving his first concert in London. But somebody is attempting to smear Velika's name, and this in turn is impingeing on important Trade talks between representatives of the Russian senate and their British counterparts.

Season 3, Episode 25 – Aired: 3/14/1964
Esprit De Corps
Corporal Craig of the Highland Guards dies a most mysterious death. Steed finds himself involved in an exercise to capture London, and ends up facing the same firing squad as Corporal Craig.

Season 3, Episode 26 – Aired: 3/21/1964
Lobster Quadrille
A man is burned in a fishing hut, and among the surviving items is an unusual chess piece. Cathy is endeavouring to discover a secret code which is built into a chess game. Steed finds that Cathy is missing, and while looking for her stumbles upon some drugs which belong to some fishermen involved in smuggling dope.

Season 4, Episode 1 – Aired: 10/2/1965
The Town of No Return
Four agents have vanished, looking for each other, in Little Bazeley-by-the-Sea. Steed and Emma go in for the man who went in for the man who.... and meet the odd local landlord, blacksmith and vicar. Are they more than they seem?

Season 4, Episode 2 – Aired: 10/9/1965
The Gravediggers
Has the late Dr Marlow's proposed radar-jamming system been tested against British defences? If so, the dead scientist seems to be doing it from his grave. And what's the connection with the local hospital's bizarre operations and a train-crazy philanthropist?

Season 4, Episode 3 – Aired: 10/16/1965
The Cybernauts
A vastly strong, bullet-proof killer homes in on and destroys several electronics executives. Could it have something to do with Dr. Armstrong's automated work place? Or with the activities of a nearby karate school...

Death at Bargain Prices
When an agent is killed in the lift of Pinter's Department store, Steed and Emma get involved with King Kane, a tycoon who lives in a penthouse above the store. Why is Professor Popple, a missing atomic scientist, being held in the bargain basement?

Castle De'ath
Why have all the fish vanished from the Scottish coastline? Does it have anything to do with a dead frogman, found stretched as if on a rack? Steed and Emma think so, which is why they're guests of Ian, the 35th Laird of Clan De'ath, and in danger of being caught by the gillies.

The Master Minds
A government official, dresssed as one of the Horse-guards, helps in a raid on secret files and is wounded. Recovering, he remembers nothing. Is his crime anything to do with his membership of Ransack, a club for those with high IQs? Emma can join, but Steed may have to cheat....

The Hour that Never Was
Following a motor crash, Steed and Emma explore the seemingly deserted RAF Hamelin, where they were heading for a party to celebrate the base's closure. Is this surreal landscape all a dream, or is it something worse?
