Rick, Connie and David hatch a plot to discourage Carlisle from taking the job and it works. Unfortunately, Harriet drops by during the deception and witnesses David treating Ricky abysmally. She leaves the office (Carlisle shortly thereafter) to get Ricky and sandwich as he isn't allowed to take "lunch". When when returns to the office with Ozzie in tow, the situation is now reversed between Ricky and David (put on for her benefit). At this point Judge Roberts drops in (amidst the embarrassment), but explains that he is not disappointed the David didn't hire Carlisle (the Judge will hire Carlisle himself). The real reason the Judge has dropped in, however, is that he has come to see David about a Stanley Steamer case. Which happens to be Ricky's favorite case:"1908 Walker vs. MacPherson - New Jersey." Unfortunately Ricky does not get to advise David but does get to smoke a cigar.
