Jerry Robinson, "The Bob Newhart Show"

As Jerry Robinson on "The Bob Newhart Show," Peter Bonerz was television comedy's most famous orthodontist. Bonerz had a brief list of feature films to his credit beginning around 1969, most prominently "Catch 22" which also starred Bob Newhart.

After "The Bob Newhart Show," Bonerz continued to act occasionally in TV movies and sitcoms, including a year as the overbearing boss, Franklyn Hart, on the TV version of "9 to 5." In 1986, Bonerz switched to a career behind the camera, and has continued, quite successfully as a director of sitcoms. To his credit are "Alf," "Sharing Richard," "Murphy Brown," "Wings," "Minor Adjustments," "Mr. Rhodes" and "Friends."

Bonerz also reprised the role of Jerry Robinson on "Newhart" in 1992, and had a guest spot on Bob Newhart's current series "George & Leo."
